HIV FAQS

  1. Can HIV be transmitted in household environment?

No it is not possible for HIV to get transmitted in household environment. The transmission always requires direct exposure to the infected blood. So far there are only a couple of cases which were suspected to have transmission risks in an household environment. One was a sister using the same razor used by her infected sister and the other was that of a mother getting infected from her infected son while applying the medicine to him during his psoriasis infection.

  2. Can HIV be transmitted through kissing?

No form of kissing ( Open mouth, closed, french, a light lip, a kiss on cheek ) is able to transfer the hiv virus. Firstly saliva has very less quantity of virus which you can say is null. Which is not in sufficient quantity to transmit the virus. Secondly there is an enzyme present in saliva which disinfects the hiv virus. And if you are afraid of getting the infected salive into your stomach, then the acids which processes your food will kill the virus if present.
